Did you ever notice how Disney movies portray mothers? Or not? Just watched Chicken Little: His mother is dead. Nemo: Dead mother. Bambi: OMG, we hear her get killed. Snow White: evil step-mother. Cinderella: ditto. Belle & Ariel: who knows? But their fathers need help too. Mowgli: orphan.
Kinda scary that this is the company people rely on to entertain their kids.

I took a sociology course called Sex and Gender. We had a whole section about Disney and their portrayl of women in the movies.
1) Older women big ugly women who are usually cruel and unusual
2) Young women way too skinny beautiful with long flowing hair who sing beautifully and who animals are fond of
Most of the step-mothers are evil witches bent on destruction and total world domination.
I'mglad its not just me who sees the evil parts of Disney. I have tried to boycott them, but they are omnipresent. (And hide behind other labels like Hyperion and Miramax, as well as owning ABC.)
